OUR CATS

Meet our family

Our first Norwegian Forest Cat came to live with us in early 2008, we named him Alex for Alexander the Great, his breeder, Maria Shearwood of the Miyoda Cattery named him Chulillo Miyoda. Maria introduced me to cat shows where I met a great many people and found an enjoyable way to spend my weekends.

Alex was later joined by Alfie, for Alfred the Great, but named by his breeder Clara DeDios as Nandinakatt's Simply Red. He is a stunning boy who has greatly enjoyed his show successful show career.

Alex's sister Colorina then came to live with us and we began a breeding program to try to enhance the ears and size of these beautiful cats. Colorina had several litters and we kept a number of her kittens D'Arcy of MacLeod, Eithne of MacLeod, Jewell of MacLeod and Kolorina of MacLeod.

We also have a beautiful very large queen, now neuter, Norskwood Bronwen from my friend Ali Ross and a stud boy, Tiganlea King Solomon whom I share with Caroline Tipper of Tiganlea.

From time to time kittens are returned as for some reason their owners cannot keep them. The first time this happened Beatrix of MacLeod came back to live with us and she enjoyed going to shows, so she stayed and became a show neuter. Several others have been returned and they stay with us until I can find them a new forever home, no matter how long it takes.

The cats are shown with Felis Britannica in the UK and with a number of FIFe clubs across Europe. Alfie and Solomon have done the most travelling and they enjoy it. The cats have been to shows in Czech Republic, Croatia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden. It is so nice to meet other cat fanciers around Europe who also enjoy this wonderful breed.

CH Oreo of MacLeod

Oreo of MacLeod is a black silver and white Norwegian Forest Cat who is from the last litter of IC Eithne of MacLeod with SC Tignalea King Solomon. Oreo was born on the 25th of April 2018 and has enjoyed going out to shows. After escaping the garden and wandering the neighbourhood, Oreo was spayed and is now enjoying life as a pet.

SP GB* Chulillo Miyoda

Alex is a FIFe Supreme Premier, a GCCF Premier and a Quadruple Premier with TICA. His birthday was 14 November 2007. He is now retired from showing.

SP GB*Nandinakatts Simply Red DVM

Alfie was born on 25 May 2008. He has had a very successful show career becoming a Supreme Premier and then in 2017 obtaining his Distinguished Variety Merit title for 10 Best in Variety awards. In July 2022 Alfie developed a very fast growing cancer and he crossed over the rainbow bridge.

CH PR GB*Colorina Miyoda

Colorina is our Foundation Queen, she is mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother to all of our cats. She was born on 14 November 2007. Sadly Colorina developed mammary cancer in late 2017 and left us to go over the Rainbow Bridge in December 2018.

SP GB* Beatrix of MacLeod

Bea, was born on 16 October 2010 from a mating between Colorina and SC SP Moutnain Spirit Blue Boo Balou Cat owned by my friend Ali Ross. Bea now lives with my daughter and her husband.

Bronnie who was born on 26 October 2011, and a gift from my dear friend Ali Ross. Bronwen now lives with my daughter and her husband.

GB* D'arcy of MacLeod

D'Arcy is a beautiful black smoke Norwegian Forest Cat born on the 4th of March 2012. She was from a repeat mating betweein Colorina and Blue Boo. D'Arcy was spayed in 2018 and is happy as a pet.

IC GB*Eithne of MacLeod

Eithne is my gorgeous tortie girl from Colorina's with IC Sterrankattens Bear Hug aka Fatty. She is cheeky and gorgeous, she was born on the 30th of May 2013. She was neutered in late summer 2018 and is a very happy pet.

SC GB* Tiganlea King Solomon

Who knew a stud cat could be so soppy? I share Solly with my friend, his breeder Caroline Tipper. Solomon was born on the 12th of August 2014. He has had a wonderful show career thus far. Solomon retired as an entire male in July 2019 and was neutered. In late 2023, Solomon was diagnosed with diabetes. Our Vet and I did our best to reverse it, but sadly we were unable too and he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on 23 August 2023

Jewell of Macleod

Jewell is a brautiful cream and white bicolour tabby, daughter of Eithne with GIC Uilleam des Fines Terres owned by my friend Judith MacArthur of Old Possum's cattery. Jewell was born on the 9th of April 2015, sadly Jewell developed cancer and went to sleep in 2020.

Kolorina of MacLeod

Kolorina was born on 15 December 2016. She is the result of a mating between D'Arcy and our friend Caroline Tipper's boy IC Tiganlea Prince Zebadee. She was named after her grandmother Colorina as she has very similar coloring and a blotched tabby pattern. Kolorina is now enjoying life as a neuter.

Lapanto's Ole Lynggard

Ole joined us in July 2019, he was bred by our friends Ans and Patricia Kessler of Lapanto's cattery in the Netherlands. Ole will be our new stud boy as Solomon has retired. He was born on 8 March 2019 and his line which can be seen on pawpeds is quite different from my lines of my girls. He is a cheeky and loveling little fellow and hopefully will do quite well on the show bench.

Barb and her sisters, Loulou, Sister and Bubbles were born on 11 November 2019. Her parents are Oreo and Dramon Vendellak owned by our friend Tracey Spooner at Carchristeykatt.

Sister of Macleod

Sister and her sisters, Loulou, Barb and Bubbles were born on 11 November 2019. Her parents are Oreo and Dramon Vendellak owned by our friend Tracey Spooner at Carchristeykatt. Sister is now living with Anastasia in early 2023.

Bubbles of MacLeod

Bubbles and her sisters, Loulou, Sister and Barb were born on 11 Nvember 2019. Her parents are Oreo and Dramon Vendellak owned by our friend Tracey Spooner at Carchristeykatt. Bubbles was supposed to join my Oliver of Macleod in New York, but because of covid that did not happen, so she has gone to live with our friend in Newmarket on a farm in the countryside.

Etta is a Bastille Day baby born on 14 July 2021. Her parents are Sookie of MacLeod and Lapanto's Ole Lynggard.

Olympe is the sister of Etta born 14 July 2021 to a mating between Sookie of MacLeod and Lapanto's Ole Lynggard.

Sverre of MacLeod

Sverre is a lovely black smoke with white neutered male. He should have moved to Seattle to live with our friends Heidi and Roger, but he developed an intessuption, not once but twice requiring 2 major surgeries. As a result the decision was made that he would stay here. Sverre was born 23 June 2022 to Barb of MacLeod and Lapanto's Ole Lynggard.

Lord Red of MacLeod

Red was born on 29 May 2022 to Kolorina of MacLeod from a mating with Lapanto's Ole Lynggard. He is a lovely boy.
